Sunday Night With John: Can I Get A Witness

First off, you're welcome! "Some Kind of Wonderful" by Grand Funk Railroad is an amazing song that should dance into our ears more often, and now that is out of the way on to the point of today’s blog.

Six months ago I started to overhaul my website. We decided we needed new, better, and a ton more videos for this site, social media, and marketing. This past Wednesday I sat down with my video guy to for a long edit session of the material we filmed. I knew what to expect for all but 5 of the videos. I asked five readers of my blog and book, former audience members of my presentations, and former and current co-workers to film short clips talking about why people should have me in to talk with students and educators, why working with me is different than working with other people, and what makes Share Emotions, Emotions Matter, worthy of your time.

I was not with them when they filmed their responses and this past Wednesday I sat down for the first time to watch what they thought of my talk and book, but more importantly, me. I was overcome with tears of happiness as I listened to seven clips. I can not explain how cool it was hear such encouragement, so I won’t, I’ll let the videos show you.

We all need some backup from time to time, we all need to hear what we are doing is worth our time, and we all need to know there are people out there that believe in us. We should all say encouraging reminders more often. I mean life is always more, “Some Kind of Wonderful” when you are lucky enough to get a witness.
