26ish thoughts about running my first marathon, the Grandma's Marathon in Duluth Minnesota. 

Anne and I are celebrating are first year of marriage. I share the story how we meet and why you should be open to meeting people in all sort of ways. 

But who is the bravest?  Aren’t they all brave?  

Over the years Golden boy has always supported my public speaking and our conversations turned to my message. He jokes about how everyone is sharing emotions too much and it would be better if we all kept them on the inside

“Mr. Derryberry, don’t you think it’s rude to be sleeping during class,” the professor asked.  The question startled me from my nap during my 9:00am Modern World History class.  

My Dad has been deceased for just about 18 years now, so how I did end up receiving a gift from him this past summer? 

Not so long ago I experienced a life-changing moment.  It was an unexpected comment from what I thought was a stranger.  The story goes like this…It was the first day of a weeklong training to learn a new approach for working with children

I started to look around at the space I was charged to fill with my message.  It was small and there were chairs set up in semi circle.  I took the leap and stood in front of these skeptical kids and started to deliver my talk.
