Sunday Night with John: The Boost little moments can have

The road to be successful can be filled with emotional swings of high and lows. I have had numerous talks where I have felt that this was the talk that would propel me into the audience I’ve wanted, only to be proven the road was still being paved.  I have also experienced that feeling I will never get a talk again only to book four talks in one week and book them in places I have never been.  Creating, crafting, and building a career, as a public speaker brick by brick was never going to happen over night.

The key was learning to look for moments that would continue to fuel my passion to help inspire change. Some days those inspirations come in a phone call, an email, reading a book, and or a loved one or friend saying something that pulled me back into my rhythm.  This week I was sitting with a friend and they casually mentioned that they read my blog every week that they enjoy it, and look forward to seeing what I have come up on Sunday night.

When I started the blog, I was hoping it would be another way to connect with my audience, help others ponder life, increase my chances of reaching new people, and a bigger audience. I never thought friends, co-workers, and family would and could be affected by my words. The friend reading my blog was this weeks little moment that moved me forward to stay committed to my design, thoughts, and actions around my mission.

We all face these moments where the long road to our dreams, and goals are littered with moments that makes us feel low, like giving up, and that there is no end in sight. The road to achieve dreams and goals is also littered with people who give up, turn around, or just get stuck.  The people who fail to allow those little moments to lift them up, buckle under the long trail life puts on. It may only be one person looking forward to reading my blog this week, but I now know one person looks forward to reading this blog. Who knows when one turns into two, three, four, and one thing this long road has shown me is that next week if I’m paying attention, there will be another boost to keep me focused.
