I have lost my ability for the moment to present an articulate educated opinion about the role of authority and how authority has to walk a fine line to maintain the respect of the people it’s leading. 

The stubborn standoff was started and I realized the stubborn streak runs deep in the Derryberry clan. 

The tweet read, “Bernie Sanders seems to be the most honest, but no way would I vote for him, I’m Republican.” It’s irresponsible to dismiss a candidate because they don’t identify with your party.  

My urban farmer friend gets side tracked with giving me some advice. 

I’m competitive and still want to think there are moments where I can chase down my youth, smile at it, and say, “I’ve still got it.” 

Ryan, my friend over the last four years is the definition of “They sure do make some like they used to.” He can fix about anything, loves hunting, fishing, building, and can start a fire by looking at the logs.

Compassion does not reveal its glory in the person with the talent; it reveals its power in the patient, the student, or the person who is now inspired to move forward. 

I sat there for the first ten minutes of their conversation taking in bits and pieces of what I could make out. I heard them talk about Martin Luther King Jr, I heard them talk about the recent Kim Davis fiasco in Kentucky, and good old Donald Trump running for president. I began to wonder, could I join in the conversation and how could I pull that off?
