Sunday Night With John: Anne's Got A Voice

We live in an ever going mass of voices with the growth of social media. It would be easy to think, what's the point of standing up for a cause because just one voice will be drowned out by the masses?  Anne, my wife, didn't believe her voice would land on deaf ears. She posted on Facebook this message:

This facebook post was picked up by KWWL and this happened:

The company was true to their word and cleaned up the mess:

Tash picked up along Iowa River after expressed concern

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -The Iowa River in Iowa City appears much cleaner after trash was picked up this weekend.

After recent concerns pointing toward a local recycling company, the area was cleaned. About three weeks ago, trash could be seen along the banks. It was tossed from City Carton Recycling in Iowa City.

The company has since cleaned up the recycled material, and says the staff is still working with the city to find a solution to prevent trash from piling up again.

Anne's voice made a difference, one voice always has the potential to change the world. We just have to remember to keep asking questions and to keep talking. Our silence never gives others a chance to prove that they have heard our concerns.  Find your voice and never let it be silent.
