My urban farmer friend gets side tracked with giving me some advice. 

I’m competitive and still want to think there are moments where I can chase down my youth, smile at it, and say, “I’ve still got it.” 

Ryan, my friend over the last four years is the definition of “They sure do make some like they used to.” He can fix about anything, loves hunting, fishing, building, and can start a fire by looking at the logs.

Compassion does not reveal its glory in the person with the talent; it reveals its power in the patient, the student, or the person who is now inspired to move forward. 

I sat there for the first ten minutes of their conversation taking in bits and pieces of what I could make out. I heard them talk about Martin Luther King Jr, I heard them talk about the recent Kim Davis fiasco in Kentucky, and good old Donald Trump running for president. I began to wonder, could I join in the conversation and how could I pull that off? 

Two former marching bands guys catch up on chasing on life. Josh trying to help his band reach a bigger audience and myself pushing my message into new areas exchange emails to see how far we have come since allowing the girls to do our hair at band camp. (See Picture above, I didn't knock the devil horns on purpose) 

Happiness, a feeling we take for granted, one we often don’t allow ourselves to express or feel for too long. We can sometimes act like if we are too happy things will go horribly wrong.

In reality, the line between a life of independence and a life that requires support is paper-thin.
