It was the end of a long couple of days and I was watching the Notre Dame football game with my fiancée’s Dad. We were chatting about our jobs; they overlap quite a bit, football, and life.

I was sitting at a table with one eye and both ears on my friend singing karaoke at a place called the Red Lion.  My other eye was on the television set in the corner of the room.  It was game two of the Eastern Conference NBA finals when Lebron was still a good guy for my hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. 

    I’m often asked why I use humor in all of my presentations. The theory goes if we are talking about deep felt emotions there must be no room for laughter.

My dad and I’s connection will always be the ebb and flow of basketball.  But our first sport together was baseball.

As I wandered around the Superior Hiking Trial, a couple of miles off of the great lake, a couple of themes waved over me. I’ll share the one that followed me off the trail.... 

No matter how we spend our time in life and what we do for a living, we all need time to re-charge. I find myself at that point this weekend.

 And how emotionally refreshed I feel.
